Pink moment of the day...

Here's my pink moment of the day...

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. "

Poetry...

For my Sissy...

Sisters…
By Eliza Schneider-Green

Sisters are like flowers growing side-by-side,
Playing and laughing,
on bikes they will ride,
Through years will slip past,
Their friendship will last,
Sisters are like flowers growing side-by-side,

Gossiping, shopping and brushing their hair,
A lovely companion who’ll always be there,
For you in your time of need,
One who will follow and one who will lead,
Gossiping, shopping and brushing their hair,

Sisters are wonderful lovable friends,
Fighting a battle then making amends,
Able to talk about difficult choices,
Using their luminous, lovable voices,
Sisters are wonderful lovable friends,

Poetry...

Greetings - It's been a while since I've written anything for the blog and I'm sorry about that. Lately I've been spending my time at ballet (we've started rehearsing for the spring show). I've also been writing piles of poetry (don't ask me why). I sometimes will write a piece of poetry and then read it to my cat to see his or her reaction (they normally either walk away or stare at me until they get bored). Lately I've had cabin fever and I can't wait until summer - I've tried to get my summer clothes together but it doesn't make me feel any better when it's 42 degrees outside. I've been dreaming of lounging outside on a hot summer's day, sipping lemonade and ready a Vogue, but I'm afraid that it'll be months before that dream will come true. In the mean time, I can snuggle up in my blanket, sip hot chocolate and write poetry.

Happy New year!

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope everyone has enjoyed their first week of 2010 and have enjoyed their holiday break. Every new year's eve, I always start to feel a wave of depression hit me - I don't know if it's anxiety of a new year or all of the emotions from the last year getting one last kick out of me. Which one it is I don't know, but it seams like I always welcome the new year with a full blown hissy fit! Oh, the crying the sobbing, the grumping at everyone who's around me - it gets worse every year. This year I didn't have much time for grumping. I had to get up early the next day so I could go jump into a 70 degree natural spring with my family and a bunch of my crazy friends. My hissy fit was shocked right out of me! A new year tradition was born - a swim in the water and them a steaming cup of hot chocolate in the lodge. The worst part of the whole ordeal was getting out of the water and being directly smacked in the face with cold, and horribly windy weather.

During the holiday break I got a change to raid the family ceder chest with my Mom. Oh the treasures we found! There were dresses, shoes, skirts, tops, hats, bags and much, much more. My Grandmother always saved clothes - wedding dresses, baby clothes, nightgowns etc. - all I can say is, I'm so, so, so, so glad that she did. I tried on my Aunt's wonderful wedding dress that was handmade by my Grandmother and my Great Grandmother. I also tried on an amazing lavender gown from the 50's (floor length, chiffon, boat neck, and with a matching hat!). Gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS! After I go back to the chest - preferably when I have my camera - I'll post some pics!

I'll post some more later on...
